Day 40 - And the Journey Continues!

HEBREWS 12:1-3 (NIV)
1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. 2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
What an amazing 40 day journey! The past 40 days have been a learning experience for me. Hopefully, this journey has encouraged, inspired, and challenge you too. What have we discovered together?
• Faith requires immediate obedience and a concentrated focus on God’s plan for our lives.
• Faith strengthens us. By leaning on Christ, through faith, it strengthens us to weather the storms in our lives.
• Faith reaches out. Others can see the love and forgiveness shown by Christ through real people—us!
• Faith is a source of power. I am not strong enough to carry out a faith-filled task without Jesus Christ’s power.
• Faith is active, while belief is passive.
• Faith serves and leads others to serve. Our perfect example of a servant is Jesus Christ.
• Faith is having courage, courage to give God complete control of your life.
• Faith is following direction. We need to allow God to lead and direct us in making all the decisions on this path of faith that we pursue.
I’m so glad I pursued this path of faith with you. Thank you for all your input and encouragement! Now let me ask you:

What a great way to sum up the past 40 days–great job, Danielle! The greatest thing I’ve learned over the past 40 days is that faith is a necessity in our lives about as much as having air to breathe. Without it we can’t please God, and without it we would struggle through much more than we could handle. I am so thankful that we did this study, as it gave me a greater understanding of what faith is and how to apply it to my life!!

This study has helped focus me on what matters, my relationship with God. The closer I am to God, the stronger my faith is and the end result is that I can be used more by God. I feel blessed to worship with and be a part of a community of believers who help me everyday remain focused on what matters.
