Day 23 - A Contagious Faith
1 Thessalonians 1:8 (NLT)
“And now the word of the Lord is ringing out from you to people everywhere . . . for wherever we go we find people telling us about your faith in God.”
Some things we prefer not to be contagious—a cold, chicken pox, bad attitudes, and losing (right now, I’m thinking about a particular baseball team in Atlanta). But if there is one thing that should be contagious, it is our faith in God. God chose us to be contagious Christians. Bill Hybels, a pastor in the Chicago area, is right when he says:
What is the reputation of your faith? Also, how are you working with others to share your faith? In our verse for today, Paul is not talking about an individual’s faith. He’s talking about the faith of a certain church.
Peace Community Church has BIG Sunday coming up on September 23. We’ve got less than one month to unleash our faith and let the community know what we’re all about. In the months ahead, will we hear people talking about the contagious faith of Peace Community Church?
PRAYER: “Heavenly Father, I know that you have chosen me to be a contagious Christian. I thank you for the privilege, but what an overwhelming responsibility! Starting today, give me and others in my church the courage to be contagious. For Your Glory, Amen.”
POINT TO PONDER: God chose us to be contagious Christians.

As a medical professional in aclinical setting, the words contagious and spreading are “bad” words. As a Christian, I hope to be a “carrier” of Christian faith. I am very fired-up about Big Sunday @ PEACE. I hope to be very “contagious”.

Have you ever shared your faith with someone and just really felt you bonded with them ONLY due to this sharing of God’s word? This is truely amazing and I believe is what God intends for us. Just like with your sunday school class. I came to know all of you by babysitting and through CHRIST. I feel that I have a bond with my sisters and brothers in CHRIST (your church as well as mine) through HIM and I believe contagious rightfully explains this!
