Day 29 - Faith’s Source of Power

4 My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, 5 so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.  (1 Corinthians 2:4-5, NIV)

The Apostle Paul did not set out to do great things for God.  God decided to do great things THROUGH Paul.  Do you see the difference?  Make no mistake, Paul was one of the greatest difference-makers in the history of the world.  But he would be the first one to say:  “Whatever difference I have made is not because of me, but because of God working through me.”

The example of Paul is a worthy example to follow.  Think about those people in your life that you want to influence.  Think about those people at work, or who live across the street, or that family member.  Do you really want to make a difference in their life?  Do you really want to see their faith grow?  Depend on God’s power.  Trust Him to work through you.  First and foremost, the path of faith is not about doing great things for God.  It’s about God doing great things through you as you rely on His power.

PRAYER:  “God, I want to be a difference-maker this week.  I want your power in my life so that my faith and the faith of others will see You at work in this world.  Use me this week however You want to use me.  For Jesus’ sake, Amen.”

POINT TO PONDER:  The path of faith is about God doing great things through you as you rely on His power.
